About the event
As a professor of history at the University of Texas at Austin and fellow of the American Physical Society, Dr. Martínez enjoys a multifaceted expertise as both a researcher and professor in the history of science and mathematics with interests in Einstein, historical myths in science, and other related fields. He has authored several works such as Burned Alive: Giordano Bruno, Galileo & the Inquisition (2018), The Cult of Pythagoras: Math and Myths (2012), Science Secrets: The Truth About Darwin’s Finches, Einstein’s Wife, and Other Myths (2011), and Kinematics: The Lost Origins of Einstein’s Relativity (2009). His articles have been acknowledged and published in journals and magazines like The American Journal of Physics, Annals of Science, USA Today, and Scientific American to just name a few.
The Historia Project is a national student-run 501(c)(3) that aims to introduce history of science to the youth. In their work, they have impacted over a hundred young students with their mission through both virtual and in-person platforms, including the Historia Virtual Museum, in-person workshops, and of course their guest speaker events.
