Read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms and Conditions”, “Agreement”) before using the https://www.historiaproject.org website (the “Service”) run by the Historia Project (“us”, “we”, or “our”).

By accessing, browsing and/or using this Service you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by this Agreement. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you do not have permission to access the Service.

We reserve the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Effective Immediately” date at the top of the page. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting the updated Terms and Conditions on the Service, and you waive the right to receive specific notice of each such change or modification.

You agree to comply with all copyright and trademark laws and you shall not encumber any interest in, or assert any rights to, the Content.
You may not modify, transmit, participate in the sale or transfer of, or create derivative works based on any Content, in whole or in part.
You may print copies of the Content, provided that these copies are made only for personal, non-commercial use and that you maintain any notices contained in the Content, or maintained by the Contributor, such as all copyright notices, trademark legends, or other proprietary rights notices.
You shall not store electronically any significant portion of any Content.
The Historia Project authorizes you to view and use the Content on this Service solely for your personal, noncommercial use. The use of the Content on any other site, including by linking or framing, or in any networked computer environment for any purpose is prohibited without the Historia Project’s prior written approval.
For permission to use Content from this website or from a newsletter authored and distributed by the Historia Project, request written permission and provide full attribution. Liability
The Historia Project shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of or in connection with the use of the Service or the Contents of the Service.
Any contact, communication or activity outside the Historia Project is beyond our scope of responsibility, including video chat and email coordination. The Historia Project cannot be held liable for any damages that occur.
Each staff member is a volunteer and is independent of the Historia Project. We are not responsible or liable for any interactions between staff and students, parents, hosts, etc. ​Parents of the staff, parents of the students, or any supervising adult hosts are responsible for monitoring the interactions.
The Historia Project assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the Contents on the Service.
While we do our best to screen our staff members for eligibility and qualifications, participation in the Historia Project is at your own risk.
The Content provided on the Service is provided as a service to members of the public. Presented information on the Service is strictly for informational purposes. No information presented constitutes legal advice, nor does it create an attorney-client relationship between the Historia Project and any other party.
User Agreement
​Parents of students, hosts at institutes, and parents of the staff are responsible for monitoring the interactions.
​You must be 14-18 years old to become a staff member of Historia, and you must get parental consent to volunteer. By signing up, you guarantee that you are of age and that the information you provide us through the sign up form is valid and truthful.
Students of host venues/organizations/institutions must be enrolled in elementary or middle school. By signing up for a workshop, you (the supervisor or host) guarantee that your patrons or students are enrolled in elementary school or middle school, and that the information you have entered into the form is valid and truthful.
You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your name.
You must not abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate or intimidate other users.
​The Historia Project reserves the right to remove volunteers from the website and or Service with or without reason.
The Historia Project has the right but not the obligation to monitor and edit all Content provided by users.
Workshop Policy
Requested session lengths both in-person and online can range from half an hour to maximum one hour, although final length is subject to the discretion of the staff and contact correspondence . ​
We suggest that you book workshops at least 14​ days in advance to ensure the workshop team is prepared for both in-person or virtual workshops.
​All sessions are subject to staff availability. The Historia Project is not responsible for any cancellations that occur.
User Must Comply with Applicable Laws
This Service is based in New Jersey. The Historia Project makes no claims concerning whether the Content may be downloaded or are appropriate for use outside of the United States. If you access this Site from outside of the United States, you are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with the laws of your specific jurisdiction.
Privacy
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with the following policies.

Pictures from meetings, workshops, and other Historia Project related activities and events will be posted on the website and social media accounts only after asking for verbal consent prior to publishing.

In our Google Contacts/Sheets records: first and last name, school name, age, picture, graduation year, state, county, email
How Data is Used:

We publicly display your name, age, school name, picture, and interests/accomplishments/hobbies/activities on your website page for students to learn about you.

We use your email to send you announcements or contact you directly regarding Historia.

​We use your state and county to understand our geographical reach.

We use your graduation year, high school name, and picture of student ID to verify that you are a high school student.

If you provided your address to us, we use it to send you a free Historia sticker upon joining.

The Wix Registration Form does not collect nor track your IP address when you submit the form

The Google Forms Leadership/Director/Staff Membership Form does not collect nor track your IP address when you submit the form.
